Gerald “Jerry” Selin, age 79, was called home on Saturday July 16th 2016.
Born on January 19th 1937 in Kenosha, the son of the late Burnell and Armeda (Graziani) Selin.
He was educated in the schools of Kenosha. On November 9th 1957, he married Betty Cassity. They began their married life together in California where he served in the US Air Force.
After two years, they returned to Kenosha where he served many years as a dedicated employee of the Kenosha Water Utility and retired in 1999.
As an active member of Kenosha Bible Church, Jerry freely gave his time putting his many woodworking talents to use. He also made urns for a local funeral home. He enjoyed country music and NASCAR. His favorite hobby during retirement was spending time with his wife designing and creating a model railroad.
He is survived by his wife Betty of Kenosha; two sons; Geffrey (Karen) Selin of Kenosha; Greggory (Carole) Selin of Phelps WI; two daughters; Jackie (James) Prey of Lake Mills WI; Jodie (Jerry) Metallo of Homestead FL; nine grandchildren; Justin (Jamie Plzak) Prey, Amanda (Torry) Rufer, Nicole (Kevin) Bernhardt, Jessica (Joe Peurzer) Selin, James (Kailani Novotny) Prey, Sheena (Kyle Odom) Selin, Eric Selin, Natalie (Stephen) DiSantis, Michael Metallo, one brother Ronald (Ellen) Selin of Rockford IL, and one sister Patricia (George) Lenz of Indiana.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 22nd, 2016 at 11:00AM at Kenosha Bible Church in Kenosha. (5404-67th Street) Visitation with the family will be held on Friday at the church from 9:30AM until the time of services. Burial will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to Kenosha Bible Church.
