Gerald F. Glass of Paddock Lake WI, age 76, passed away Sunday April 24, 2005 at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha surrounded by his three loving daughters.
He was born July 10, 1928 in Kenosha to the late John and Marie (Voleska) Glass.
He attended local schools and then joined the U.S. Navy at age 17. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1953 as a Boiler-man First Class. He enjoyed his Naval
Career as he traveled throughout the world.
On October 23, 1954 he married Lois M. Anderson at Grace Lutheran Church in Kenosha. They raised their family in Kenosha before moving to Paddock Lake where they recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. They enjoyed their years on the lake very much.
He retired in March of 1983 from American Motors after working 30 years. During his retirement he was active in Paddock Lake Rehabilitation and also operated and maintained the first weed harvester.
He enjoyed traveling to Denmark, Hong Kong, and throughout the United States.
He is survived by his wife and three daughters: Leisa Dunlap, Paula Beth, both of Paddock Lake, and Linda (Russell) Farrar of Morrison, CO. His brother John (Minnie) Glass of Grizzly Flats, CA; and a sister Mary Jane Miller of Eagle River, WI. His grandsons Travis Dunlap, Nathan Beth, R.J. and Joey Farrar and his granddaughter Lindsay Dunlap.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant brother Robert.
Graveside services for Mr. Glass will be held on Wednesday April 27, 2005 at 12:00 noon at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park and will include full military honors. An open house will follow at the Glass residence in Paddock Lake.
