Fred Susewind, age 84 a resident of Kenosha, died Monday May 16th 2011 at his residence.
Born on September 27th 1926 in Germany, he was the son of the late Heinrich and Louise Susewind.
He was educated in the schools of Germany.
On April 5th 1952 he married Inge Lang in Cologne Germany. They came to the United States in 1957.
He was employed at Peter Pirsch, then at Joe Giebler Construction and also for Riley Construction, and retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1988 as a millwright.
His family and friends considered him the “jack of all trades”. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He particularly enjoyed spending time at their “up north” summer home. He was an avid sports fan, and liked traveling to casinos.
He is survived by his wife Inge of Kenosha; three daughters Brigitte (Jim) Pelishek of Kenosha; Marina Tritten of Kenosha; Susan (Norm) Lilley of Johnson Creek WI; four grandchildren Michael (Tracey) Pelishek; Katie (Justin) Weis; Christine Lilley; Melissa Lilley; and four great grandchildren; Bane and Maris Pelishek and Briel and Erica Weiss. He is further survived by one sister in Germany, Ursula Engeleke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son in law, Dan Tritton, and a brother in law, George Dimitrijevich.
A visitation with the family will be on Thursday May 19th 2011 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Holy Nativity Lutheran Church in Kenosha. (2313-17th Avenue) Private family funeral services will be held on Friday at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorials to Hospice Alliance would be appreciated.
