Judy Capelli, 78, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 20th, 2016, at Brookside Nursing home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 29, 1938, In Corinth Mississippi, the daughter of the late Arrie and Henry Ashcraft.
On August 25, 1960, she married Edward Capelli in Kenosha. Judy was employed by the KUSD and the Italian-American Club.
Judy was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. She loved a fishing pole in her hand whether at the pier in Kenosha or a pier in Florida. She enjoyed gardening vegetables and her flowers, and especially loved the company of her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her five beloved children, Angela (Gary) Mandernack of Kenosha, Debbie (Jeffrey) Lupi of Pleasant Prairie, Kelly (Jay) Brown of Salem, John (Melanie) Capelli of Wheatland, and Eugene (Lori) Capelli of Kenosha; ten grandchildren Todd (Amy), Melissa (Dennis), Gary Jr., Corey, Madeline, Natalie, Anthony, Max, Nicholas, and Vincenzo; four great grandchildren, Kameron, Ariana, Todd, and Gracie.
In addition to her parents and husband Edward, Judy was preceded in death by all 11 of her siblings; Ethel, Leroy, Louise, George, Catherine, Cecil, Vernon, Robert, Esther, Katie, and Ruth.
Our family would like to extend a special thank you to the Nurses and aides at Brookside who helped care for our mother, laughed with her, and gave her comfort during her stay, and to Dr. Zeihen and his staff for the phone calls and for answering our questions so patiently and kindly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 30th, 2016 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 5400 19th Ave, Kenosha, WI 53140. Interment will be held at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held prior to mass on Tuesday from 9:30-11:00am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to be used for a gift to Brookside in Judy’s honor.
