Florence C. Bruno, age 98 formerly of Kenosha, late of New Lisbon WI died Saturday October 15th 2011 at Crestview Nursing Home in New Lisbon after a short illness.
Florence was born on August 17, 1913, the daughter of Viola Pynacker and Fred Van Etten. She moved to Kenosha as a young girl and attended local schools. In 1930, she married Michael Bruno. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Florence was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Seniors. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, reading novels, traveling and gardening. She was a fan of the Chicago Cubs, Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Florence is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Loren) Smith of Necedah WI and Mary (Cosmo) Tarsitano of Sun Lakes AZ; and one daughter in law Nina Bruno of Sun Lakes AZ. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren seventeen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Peter M Bruno, grandson Michael A Bruno, brother Harold Van Etten who was killed during the invasion of the Phillipines in World War II, and a step sister Helen Turco.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday October 21st 2011 at 11:00AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kenosha. (7307-40th Avenue) Visitation with the family will be on Friday at the church from 9:30AM until the time of Mass. Burial will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
