Evelyn L. Zajackowski, a resident of Caledonia, age 90, went home to heaven with her daughter Mary at her side on Friday August 4, 2017 at Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa.
Evelyn was born in Winchester Wisconsin on April 2, 1927. She was the last surviving child of 12 born to Calvin and Helen (Sleight) Doriot.
She was employed for over 50 years by Sears, where she worked as a bookkeeper and on the sales floor. Although her last few years were mixed with medical problems, Evelyn was a kind, humble woman who loved her Lord and her family with all her heart.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Mary (Steve) Sorsek, Franklin (JoAnne) Dames, and Jane Luther. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and by her special friend Lucy Krogh.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her first husband Franklin Dames, her second husband Eugene Zajackowski, and by her daughter Linda Dames.
Funeral Services for Evelyn will be held on Wednesday August 9, 2017 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (4340 Six Mile Road Racine) at 11:00AM. Visitation with the family will take place at the church from 10:00AM until the time of the service. Burial will take place at LaBelle Cemetery (700 East Grove Street Oconomowoc) later in the day.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for Stephan’s Ministry or Aurora Zilber Family Hospice would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank the staff at Aurora Franklin Medical Clinic, especially Dr. Sara Pierce and R.N. Abbey and Dr. Arturo Eyzaguirre “Dr. E.” at SLSS for exceptional service and care.
“Rest in Peace Mom. See you in heaven!”
