Ene King, age 78, a resident of Kenosha, died Tuesday July 25, 2017, at her residence.
Born on August 18, 1938 in Tallin, Estonia, she was the daughter of the late Endel and Linda (Kruse) Mang.
She came to the United States as a thirteen-year-old and was a graduate of Horlick High School in Racine. She also graduated from St. Luke’s School of Nursing.
On April 30, 1960, she married Richard King at the Church of the Nazarene in Kenosha.
She worked as a R.N. for almost 30 years at Kenosha Memorial Hospital before retiring in 1990.
She was always very active in church functions and for the past twenty years had been a member of Prayer House Assembly of God. She oversaw the church “prayer chain” for many years. When her children were young, as a family they would frequent area nursing homes, and would entertain by singing and conducting bible lessons.
She is survived by her husband Richard of Kenosha; three sons; Mark (Jerrilyn) King of San Antonio TX, Gregory (Debra) King of WI Dells WI, Scott (Sheila) King of Hawaii; one daughter Priscilla (Lynn) Horswell of Pleasant Prairie; ten grandchildren, Rachel (Steve) Campbell, Rebekah (Matt) Yeazel, Aaron King, Elizabeth King, Joel Noack-King, Axel King, Andrew King, Noah King. Brandon (Angela) Horswell, and Melinda Horswell. She is further survived by six great grandchildren, Hunter, Tabatha, Wade, Gabriella, Amalya and Obadiah. She is also survived by one brother Marti (Pat) Mang of Delavan WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Tonis Mang and a grandson Nathan Horswell.
A memorial service will be held on Friday August 11, 2017 at 3:00PM at Prayer House Assembly of God. (1525 24th Avenue) Visitation will be at service time and after the service.
Family and friends are asked to wear their favorite hat to Ene’s service to honor “The Hat Lady”. Photos will be taken after the service and posted to her “Facebook Hat Lady” page with love.
