Ellsworth H. Pratzer, age 90, formerly of Kenosha, late of McFarland died Wednesday July 21, 2010 at his McFarland home surrounded by his family.
Born on October 22nd 1919 in Kenosha he was the son of Louis and Lillian (Broz) Pratzer.
Ellsworth enlisted in the U.S. Naval Services, and was commissioned as Ensign, when the officers were sworn in at Marquette University’s commencement exercises. He received the Victory Ribbon in WWII and the American Area Campaign Ribbon. He served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre, honorably discharged at the rank of Lieutenant in 1957.
On June 11, 1952 Ellsworth married Helen Saltmeris. He graduated from Marquette University, majoring in chemical engineering. He was employed for 30 years at American Motors Corporation as the Divisional Master Mechanic in the Engineering Department. Ellsworth was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was also a member of the Professional Engineers Association.
Ellsworth is survived by his wife Helen, one daughter Heidi Norwick of McFarland, WI, two granddaughters Katie (Nick) Caputi of Chicago, IL and Sadie Norwick of Chicago, IL. He is further survived by Joe Norwick of Flossmoor, IL.
Ellsworth was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters Virginia Bonofiglio and Lois Bonofiglio.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday July 26, 2010 at St. Peter Catholic Church (2224 30th Avenue) at 11:00 AM. Visitation with the family will be held at the church from 10:30 until the time of mass. Entombment will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
