Ellen M. Smith

Ellen Marie Smith, 61, of Kenosha passed away on Friday, August 18th, 2023, at Froedtert South Pleasant Prairie, St. Catherine’s. Ellen was born in Waukegan IL on September 12th, 1961, the daughter of Earl and Eleanor (Hill) Hull. She was educated in the local Zion schools and attended Gateway Technical College where she obtained her GED. Ellen moved to Kenosha in the early 80s, she later married her husband Clem Smith in 1997.

Ellen was employed with Abbvie Labs in the cafeteria, she retired in 2021 but never lost her love for cooking, she loved to cook for an “army” she never cooked for just one. Ellen loved the Green Bay Packers, DIY crafts, and puzzles which she completed over 60, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all whom had the pleasure of knowing her.

Ellen is survived by her sons, Shawn (Becky) Hull, Eric (Jessica) Hull, stepson Chad (Jazmin) Smith, daughter Janis (Patrick) McNamara, stepdaughter Aimee Smith, Melissa “Missy” Smith, and Cassandra “Sandy” Haupt, grandchildren, Nicholas Spiers, Alexander Hull, Conner Hull, Allie Hull, Neomanie Rivera, Koralee Rivera, Liam McNamara, Eleanor McNamara, and Tyler Swanson, great grandchild, LouAnne Hull, sister Elaine (Larry) Robinson, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Eleanor, her husband Clem Smith, and siblings, Earlene DeMoss, Everett Hull and Evelyn “Sue” Hull.

Ellen’s family would like to thank the Horizon Hospice nurses and staff and the staff at Froedtert South for the wonderful care and compassion they showed her.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated.

 A Memorial Service for Ellen will be held on Saturday, August 26th, 2023, at Kemper Center Founders Hall (6501 3rd, Ave), visitation to start at 3:00pm and service to follow at 4:00pm.
