Elaine R. Goergen, 83, died peacefully at home on Friday February 5, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She courageously fought cancer for over a year and is now home with her Lord and Savior.
Elaine was born in Kenosha, WI on March 28, 1932 to William and Rose (Willems) Huck. She attended St. George Catholic School, Washington Jr. High and Kenosha Vocational School. She married Ronald M. Goergen on May 26, 1951 celebrating almost 65 years of marriage together.
Elaine worked at Sentry Foods as a cashier and florist, Snap-On-Tools, and retired from Manutronics. After retirement she continued to volunteer at local Election Polling sites. Her family was always her first priority during her life. She enjoyed playing games with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as getting together with her siblings. She loved reading her Bible and was a member of St. Mary’s Lutheran Church.
Elaine is survived by her husband Ronald M. Goergen, Sr. and her 5 children, Ronald (Linda) Goergen Jr., Gail Benton, Bonnie (Daniel) Garcia, Rick (Gwen) Goergen and Betty (Lionel) Marble. She is further survived by 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great, great granddaughters. Elaine is also survived by her sisters, Joyce Lupi and Marion Flex.
Elaine was preceeded in death by her parents, her brother Bob Huck and sisters Dorothy Huck, Laverne Nelson, Pearl Richie and Shirley (Leiting) Burman.
Ronald Sr. and his family want to express their deep appreciation to Hospice Alliance for the compassionate care given to Elaine, with a special thank you to Marissa, Dawn and Pastor Charlie.
Visitation is on February 11 at 10:00 am with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 noon at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church, 2001-80th Street, Kenosha, WI. Her burial will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice Alliance would be greatly appreciated.
