Edward Prostko

Edward Prostko, age 69, a resident of Pleasant Prairie, died Tuesday January 31st, 2017 at UHS St. Catherine’s.

Edward was born in Kenosha on August 15th, 1947 to Vincent and Eleanor (Kristiansen) Prostko. On January 10th 1976, he married Linda Williams in Kenosha. He was employed at Outboard Marine Corporation for 30 years until his retirement.

Ed loved road trips, shopping for antiques and their menagerie of dogs and cats. He was a prankster who could always make people laugh and a great story teller, especially when it came to spooky stories.

He had many friends at OMC and was loved by all who met him. He could keep a secret, give unconditional support and be a constant presence for the people he loved. Ed had an open heart for people who were broken or lost and those people in turn gave their hearts and loyalty to Ed. More than 70 foster kids were part of Ed’s life and he considered each one of them family.

Left to cherish Ed’s memory are his wife Linda, his brothers Richard (Jackie) Prostko of Portage and Larry (Sue) Prostko of Kenosha and his family, Tiffany Deau and Keri (David) Bachand and their children Eddie, Jessica, Janis, Eric and Gabriana as well as by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his sister Betty Cornell.

As per Ed’s wishes, private family services will be held.

Thought for Edward Prostko (1947-2017)

  • Kathy Jayne Kaae says:

Big Ed was my half Brothers life long Friend. He was also my Friend. As a lost, block headed, shy, confused Teenager traveling back & forth from Kenosha to Ogema…many of those long trips with Ed & his little Sassy dog. Ed took me under wing and guided me but never told me what to do. Some of those trips Linda was with. Those 2 were like my Family by Heart. They both always will be. I miss & loved those trips. Ed up there in Heaven thank you for always being there with that big grin & always comforting reassurance.
