Edward C. Nelson, Jr, a resident of Pleasant Prairie, died Wednesday August 25, 2010 at his residence.
Edward was born on December 2, 1925 in Kenosha, the son of Edward C. and Amelia (Christiansen) Nelson. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha.
Edward served in the U.S. Air Force from 1944-1946. He received the Victory Medal, the American Theatre Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal.
On September 8, 1951 he married Denise McKinley at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kenosha.
He was employed as a car salesman at Granger Oldsmobile and Hiller Chevrolet. He also owned and operated, along with his wife, the Boy Blue Dairy Store on Roosevelt Rd in Kenosha for seven years. He retired in 1991 from Granger Oldsmobile.
Edward was a member of the Kenosha Moose Club. He enjoyed collecting die cast cars. He also enjoyed cooking and grilling. Edward also enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Edward is survived by his wife Denise, one son Chris Nelson of Racine, one daughter Corrine Nelson of Racine and one granddaughter Lauren Nelson of Union Grove. He is also survived by one caring nephew Robin Udstuen and his wife Patricia of Dallas TX.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Robert Nelson and one sister Francis Udstuen.
Chapel services will be held on Tuesday August 31, 2010 at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park at 1:30PM.
