Donald E. Anderson, age 80, a resident of Kenosha, died Monday, August 21, 2006, at Hospitality Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born on December 11, 1925 in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Arthur and Anna (Bauer) Anderson.
A life long Kenosha resident, he was educated in the schools of Kenosha. He was a graduate of Kenosha High School, and also the Kenosha College of Commerce.
He served in the US Army from March 1, 1943 until December 29, 1945 where he achieved the rank of Corporal. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medal.
On May 7, 1949 he married Doris E. Young at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Kenosha.
For 10 years he was employed at Milk Producers in Kenosha, before accepting a position with John Hancock Financial Services. He was employed by John Hancock in sales, and would retire after 25 years of service.
He is a longtime member of St. Mark Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and golfed in the Flints Inn Golf League, and the Senior League at Kenosha?s Municipal Golf Course. He also loved to fish.
He is survived by his wife Doris of Kenosha; four sons, Theodore E. (Kathy) Anderson of Kimball MN, David A. (Maureen) Anderson of Lincoln, New Hampshire, Paul M. (MaryJo) of Kenosha, James R. Anderson of Racine, seven grandchildren; Holly, Sam, David James, Heather, Isabella, Mitchell and Benjamin. He is further survived by two brothers; John (Joanne) Anderson of Kenosha, Kenneth (Germaine) Anderson of Orlando FL and two sisters; Dorothy Wenman of Kenosha and Rosemarie Anderson of St. Louis MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Arthur, Ronald and one sister Clara Nelson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 11:00am at St. Mark?s Catholic Church (7117 14th Avenue). Visitation will be on Thursday at the Church from 9:30am until the time of mass. Entombment will take place at All Saints Catholic Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mark?s Catholic Church would be appreciated.
