I’ve only been a CNA for just under a year, but Dennis definitely had an impact on me and so many others during his stay at Brookside Care Center. Getting him up every afternoon from his nap so he could eat and spend time with his wife, Darlene, is something that I will always miss. The smile he had on his face, and the love he had for his wife in their 65th year of marriage was truly memorable. It was always a pleasure passing by the Southport room and hearing country music playing as they built puzzles together. I even bumped into Darlene one day at Subway while she was ordering dinner for Dennis and herself. The love between these two was very noticeably present. He was one of many who motivated me to come into work each day. I am grateful for the year I got to spend with him and Darlene, and my heart goes out to Darlene in these difficult times. Rest in Peace Dennis.

    -Matthew

  • Our sympathies go to you Aunt Dar and the whole extended Mueller Family. We are sad we can’t be there with you all. So blessed and grateful for the time we got to spend with everyone at the Mueller reunion. My memories at Aunt Dar and Uncle Dennis’ house playing Zim Zam with Brent, fuzzy navels in the basement and most memorable was dancing to 50’s music at Aunt Dar and Uncle Dennis’ anniversary party. So many happy memories to be thankful for. We love you, Brent and Polly

  • Dennis and Darlene, you both will always hold a special place in my heart. You have encouraged me to become a CNA and to pursue nursing. I will forever miss you both in my life and send my deepest condolences to Darlene and family. Dennis was a wonderful man who always showed kindness and compassion for me and my son. I will miss playing puzzles and seeing him and Darlene during and after my shifts. May he fly high and be filled with the joy and kindness he’s always shown everyone else in his life in the afterlife forever. Rest in peace.
    sincerely,

  • Sue (Rhode) Lechner says:

Kris: I just saw this obituary. We went to grade school together & worked at Jockey about 30 years ago. Your sister, Kim, used to babysit my brother & I back in the ‘70s. I’m so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. I remember he always had a big smile and was very kind. I also remember the “confetti” he would supply you with to throw at the football games in junior high. My deepest sympathies to you, your Mom, and sisters. -Sincerely, Sue (Rhode) Lechner
