Delores “D.J.” Schlegel (1925-2018

Delores “D.J.” (Poole) Schlegel, age 92, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 at her home with her husband by her side.

D.J. has been quite a blessing for me and to those who have had the opportunity of sharing her life, will never forget her style, nor will they forget her faithfulness. She was special.

D.J. was an author and writer and here is a sample of one of her writings to recapture her love, commitment and being just herself once again.

“May our character increasingly reflect his graciousness that he might be glorified through our lives and may the joy of the Lord literally become our strength.”

D.J. is survived by, her husband, Ronald of Mt. Pleasant; a half-sister, Suzanne Hannen and her half-brother, John Poole.

A committal service for D.J. will be held at 2:00 P.M. at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery (21731 Spring Street, Union Grove) with full military honors. D.J.’s family would like to express a special thank you to the VA Clinic in Union Grove as well as to Clement J. Zablocki Medical Center in Milwaukee for many years of care.
