David Glen Aker was born to life August 13, 1953 at Great Lakes Naval Base in IL and born to eternal life July 31,2019. His parents were Loran Lloyd Aker and Dixie Ann (Lawrence). He grew up in Paris Township in Kenosha County, returning there after living in Waterford to raise his children in his childhood home.
He retired in April 2018 from Racine Correctional Institute after 37 years of WI state service, also working prior at Southern WI Center in Union Grove. Dave attended Gateway Tech and Parkside College. He was also an auctioneer, owning and operating Aker Auction CO. for many years.
Dave’s children and family always took top priority but he had many hobbies and interests. He had a talent for drawing, writing, baking, auto repair, photography, camping, gardening and sign painting. He had a great interest in the history of Paris Township and maintained a website with information and photos. He was an avid reader, loved comedy and the circus, antiques, western movies and birdwatching. The list is truly endless and Dave was a lifelong learner. He worshipped at Bristol Methodist Church.
Dave is survived by his daughters Jessica Seligmiller (Patty) and Rachel Aker; sons, Benjamin Aker, Adam Aker and Seth Aker; grandchildren Thomas and Penny; brother, Daryl Aker; sisters, Christine Alby, Holly (Bob) Anton, Dianna Graves and Susan Aker; former wife Shawn Aker and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Loran; his mother, Dixie and a sister, Lori Jo.

A Celebration of Life picnic open to all family & friends will be held on August 11, 2019, 12-5:00 p.m. at Old Settlers Park, 1549-15th Ave, Union Grove WI.
