Darrell Patrick Kreuser of Pleasant Prairie, age 80, passed away at home on November 3rd, 2025 surrounded by family.
Darrell was born in Kenosha to loving parents Andy and Mercedes Kreuser. He was educated in Kenosha Schools and later joined the Army, where he was assigned to guard the gold at Ft. Knox.
After his stint in the Army was done, he moved back to Kenosha and met his future wife, the sister of one of his close friends, Jeannie Gapko. The two hit it off quickly and were married in Kenosha in 1968. They spent the next 57 years together; raised a wonderful family and traveled to exotic locations together like Alaska, Hawaii, Australia, and Cabo San Lucas. They even did the Route 66 road trip together.
Darrell worked for many years as a body man, fixing and fabricating parts for cars. He retired from Shepherd Chevrolet at age 62.
In his spare time, Darrell loved riding his Harley, spending time near Lake Michigan, shooting pool, and tinkering in the garage. He was a master fabricator and decorated his yard with homemade ornaments. Above all, he was known to especially love putzin’ around, enjoying life to the fullest.
Darrell is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jeannie; his son Brandy (Robin) Kreuser; and grandchildren Tristan and Garrett. He is further survived by his brothers John and Larry.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers Delbert and Duke.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Sid’s City Zoo on November 29th.
