Darlene E. Swanson

       Darlene E. Swanson (née Wisner), age 78, passed away on Tuesday, June 28^th, 2022 at Aurora Medical Center under Inpatient Hospice Care with visits from her entire loving family and her children by her side. Darlene was born on January 11^th, 1944 on the East Side of Chicago to Anthony and Mary Wisner (née Sintich). She married Carl Swanson in Cook County, IL on October 10^th, 1964. Darlene and her husband raised their children in Gingerwood, a close knit community in Oak Forest, Il where she enjoyed Sunday mass at St. George Catholic Church and neighborhood football games. She worked for Alpha School Bus Company for more than 10 years, where she cherished her time servicing children with special needs. Darlene enjoyed summer vacations with her family in the Gulf of Mexico and Florida and she will be remembered for her love of cooking, especially Asian cuisine. She enjoyed her pets, but her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.

      She was preceded in death by, her parents; two brothers, William and Ronald Wisner and two sisters, Grace Welch Crnjak and Estelle Tilley.

       Darlene is survived by, her husband of 57 years, Carl; two children, Joseph (Susan) Swanson and Michelle (Ronald) Michelon; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew Swanson and Ronjon and Madison Michelon; her brother, Dennis Wisner; and her most loving sister-in-law, Carol Bergnes, as well as, many loved nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

     In accordance with Darlene’s wishes, no services will be held. If you would like to make a donation in Darlene’s memory, please make them to the American Lung or American Heart Associations.
