Daniel Floyd Bailey, 63, was unexpectedly called home to heaven on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 at his family farm in Somers. He now rests safely in the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Dan was born in Racine on June 16, 1955 to Mr. & Mrs. Glenn & Alice Bailey. He was baptized into his saving Christian faith and marked as a child of God at his Holy Baptism on July 10, 1955 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Kenosha County. The Holy Spirit further solidified his faith when he was confirmed on May 25, 1969 at Mount Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Kenosha. He graduated from Bradford High School in Kenosha as a member of the Class of 1973. On June 7, 1975, he was married to the love of his life, Ronda Marie Murray, at Friedens Ev. Lutheran Church in Kenosha where he was a member until his passing. Dan and Ronda were an inseparable team who were always by each other’s side, and they were greatly blessed with 43 years of Christian marriage. In his early years, Dan farmed in Reeseville with his father. Later, he would become a heavy equipment operator in the road construction industry in Milwaukee. For the past 20 years, he has faithfully served at Shoreland Lutheran High School in Somers in a variety of roles, most notably with the Pacer Patrons. He loved farming, working on his tractor, gardening, and woodworking. His strong work ethic, positive attitude, spirit of servant leadership, and playful sense of humor will be missed by all of the many people he touched. Dan is survived by his mother Alice, and his loving wife Ronda. He is also survived by his four children and their spouses. Ron (Lauri) Bailey, Nicole (Tony) Kubicki, Kathran (Aaron) Taylor, and Jennifer (Kevin) Craig. He strived to be a wonderful Grandpa, just like his grandfather, Norman Bailey. His beloved grandchildren were his pride and joy, and always brought a twinkle to his eye. Madeline & Joshua Bailey, Riley & Glenna Kubicki, Anna & Dawson Taylor, and Emmett, Mabel, & Oscar Craig. He is further survived by his brothers Loren (Marietta) Bailey, Jay (Debbie) Bailey, and sister Glenda (Rev. Andy) Straseske, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Glenn, and his brother Dennis. He will be greatly missed by his large family, his extended family at Shoreland, and his best bud, Al Ferber. The family is honored that Dan’s Christian Victory service will take place on Friday Nov. 9, 2018 at noon in the Shoreland Lutheran High School Gymnasium (9026-12th Street, Somers WI or the corner of HWY E and HWY H.) Visitation with the family will be held on Friday in the gymnasium from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Family friend and Shoreland colleague Pastor Thomas Bauer will lead the worship service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated with charities to be determined at a later time. Although we are all saddened by our sudden loss, we take to heart the words of Jesus as recorded in John 14:1-4; “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” We rejoice that Dan is free of pain and his race is won. To God be the Glory!
