D. John McCabe, age 66, died peacefully Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at his residence in Delavan after battling a long illness.
D. John McCabe, born David John Offenbacher, September 23, 1939, in Detroit MI to Margaret Mitte and Odilo Offenbacher and later added Donald McCabe as his Dad.
John was employed as a class A maintenance mechanic at McDonald Douglas in CA and built air compressors so large they had to use a helicopter to place them on some of Los Angeles? tallest buildings. He was an avid motorcyclist and one of the first 25 Hell?s Henchman in Chicago. As he neared retirement, he worked at Sta Rite Industries in Delevan WI. He was retired and enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was proud of his family and will be sorely missed by them all.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 38 years, Ellen of Delevan; 2 daughters Kathreen Scott of Putnam CT., and Kathleen Chadd of Lynnwood CA; 2 sons Keith (Nichole) Miller of Kenosha, and Micah Otto of Delevan; a godson/nephew Terrence (Carmin) Bartlett of Kenosha; a brother Michael McCabe (Joyce) of Sacramento CA; 2 sisters Alice (Jim) Woodward of MI and Barbara (Bill) Carl of MI; and 5 grandsons Jonathan, Charles, Forest, Noah, and Zachary John.
His parents, a brother Robert Offenbacher, a sister Shannon McCabe, and a son-in-law Raymond Chadd preceded him in death.
