Clifton Stegman (1915 – 2010)

Clifton Stegman, age 94 a resident of Racine, died Sunday November 14th 2010 at Wheaton Franciscan Health Care in Racine.

Clifton was born on December 19, 1915 in Racine to August and Margaret (Hofmeister) Stegman. He attended and graduated from Washington Park High School in 1933.

On June 29, 1940 Clifton married Iola Hansen in Racine. She preceded him in death on December 18, 1998. Clifton owned Stegman Liquor for 40 years. He was also a 65 year member of Atonement Lutheran Church.

Clifton is survived by two daughters Peggy (Larry)Venne and Diana (William) Bock. He is also survived by three grandchildren Randy (Jana) Venne, Tracy (Jeremy) Pitchford and Michael Bock and five great grandchildren Haley Venne, Allie Venne, Drew Venne, Brooklyn Pitchford and Gavin Pitchford.

Clifton was preceded in death by his parents, wife Iola, grandson Marty Bock and brother Gordon Stegman.

Private family services will be held on Friday December 3rd 2010. The family has asked that cards and/or flowers tributes be sent to the funeral home.
