Cheryl Brown

Cheryl Ramona Brown, 61, of Kenosha, WI. departed this life after a long illness on Sunday, October 16, 2022, in Racine, Wisconsin. She was born March 22, 1961, in Kenosha, WI. She was a faithful member of the Coleman Chapel AME Church, Kenosha, WI., where she also served as pianist and organist for some years. She graduated from Tremper H.S and received her B.A. in Music from UW Parkside. She loved teaching and taught music in the Milwaukee Public School for 20 years.

She is survived by her daughter Carrie Elder of Kenosha, WI; two brothers David Brown of Los Angeles, CA; Howard “Chris” Brown of Kenosha, WI; one Uncle, Clarence (Etta) Holmes of Cleveland, OH; two nieces, Robyn (Jeffrey) McKay, Raina (Anthony)Taylor and host of cousins and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Brown, and Lillian Brown-Spann.

Funeral services for Cheryl will be held on Thursday, October 27th, 2022 at Coleman Chapel AME Church (4111 30th Ave Kenosha WI 53144) visitation will be from 11:00am to 12:00pm with the service beginning at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Greenridge Cemetery.

  • I met Cheryl many years ago at Lincoln Junior High and went through Jr. High and High school with her. Choir was a class we were always in together. Her big smile, laugh and personality was always present and she made me smile.
