Charlotte E. Haas, age 90, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2015.
Charlotte was born on January 14, 1925, the daughter of August & Anna (Muller) Knop. She attended St. John’s Grade School, Washington Junior High and graduated from William Horlick High School in 1942. She worked at Modine Manufacturing in the 1940’s. She married Clifford E. Haas at St. Patrick’s Church on February 18, 1950. Cliff and Charlotte enjoyed socializing with their friends at the Racine Yacht Club, trips to Danhauser’s cottage in Sturgeon Bay and ski trips to Bessemer, Michigan with friends and family. Charlotte also worked as a secretary at Gateway Technical College after the kids were out of the home. Charlotte could always be found toiling in her garden, raking leaves or turning over the soil at home. She will be dearly missed by all who had a chance to meet her.
She was married to Clifford Haas for 63 years. Clifford preceded her in death, passing in August 2013.
Survivors include her daughter Bonne M. Haas, son Keith E. (Jill) Haas and four grandchildren, Kelly (Tyler) Cvetan, Joanna (Ryan) Hasty, Nick (Kara) Muzia and Ben (Michelle) Muzia. She is also survived by two great grandchildren Peyton and Gage Muzia. She is further survived by her brother Gary (Bonne) Knop and sister-in-law Phyllis Haas.
Funeral services were held on August 24, 2015 at the VA Chapel in Union Grove WI with Father Steve Varghese presiding. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of the memory care floor at Casa Del Mare in Kenosha for helping Charlotte in the past 2 years and to Grace Hospice for their care and support in the last weeks of her life.
