Charles “Bud” R. Erickson, age 81, of Pleasant Prairie, died Monday February 20th 2017 at Brookside Care Center in Kenosha.
Bud was born on August 30th 1935 in Kenosha to Verner and Myrtle (Greisen) Erickson. On May 25th 1957, he was united in marriage with the former Greta Krebs. Bud worked as a truck mechanic at Lodesky Trucking and was employed by Browning-Ferris Industries for many years until his retirement in 1994.
Bud was a talented wood worker and he enjoyed camping, fishing, and cooking. He shared these talents during the many years he spent volunteering with the Boy Scouts, both as a troop leader and as a scout master. A member of the Teamsters union, Bud was also an active and involved member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was happiest when spending time with his beloved wife and their loving family.
Bud is survived by his wife Greta of Pleasant Prairie and by his sons David (Sue) Erickson, Charles “Chuck” (Jeanne) Erickson, and Michael (Louise) Erickson, and his daughter Christine (Fred) Aiello, all of Kenosha. He is also survived by his grandchildren Joshua Aiello, Katie Erickson, Michael Erickson, Nicole Erickson, David Wright, and Daniel Wright and by his great grandchildren Kaiden, Jeremiah, Layla, Kayne, Ariel and Isabella. Bud is further survived by his sisters Ruth Johnson, Janice Erickson, both of Kenosha, Judith Mielke of Trevor and Cheryl (Keith) Kerkman of Burlington.
Preceding Bud in death were his parents, his sisters Lorraine MacLaurin and Arlene Schultz, and his brother Vern Erickson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 24th 2017 at 11:00AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kenosha (corner of 73rd street and 39th Avenue). Visitation with the family will be on Friday at the church from 9:30AM until the time of mass. Entombment will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
