Charlene M. Thomas, age 82 a resident of Kenosha died Saturday April 16th 2011 at United Hospital Systems Kenosha Medical Center.
Born on June 2nd 1928 in Kenosha she is the daughter of the late Charles A. and Renilda E. (Iserman) Schulte.
She was educated in the schools of Kenosha, having attended St. Mary?s Catholic Grade School, and Bradford High. She graduated from St. Therese School of Nursing in 1950 in Waukegan, IL.
She was employed at St. Catherine?s Hospital from 1950-1977, practicing in labor and delivery. From 1977-1990 she was employed by Drs. Rafferty, Witt & Azuma. She retired in 1996.
On October 27th 1951 she married John D. (Jack) Thomas at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Kenosha.
She was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church, the St. Therese Alumni Association and The Inns Program of St. Mary?s Church. She also belonged to Our Lady of the North in Phillips, WI and St. Clement?s in Plant City, FL.
She loved her family very much and would look forward to family gatherings. After retiring, together with her husband they would winter in FL at their home in Thonotosassa. They also would spend a great deal of time in the summer at their cabin in Phillips, WI.
She is survived by her husband Jack of Kenosha; one daughter Kathleen (John) Nesseth of Elm Grove, WI and four sons, James R (family friend James) of Oak Park, IL, Don C. (Mary Beth) of Oshkosh, WI, Paul J. (Donna) of Merrill, WI, Mark D. (Debbie) of Butternut, WI. She is further survived by five grandsons Matthew Thomas, Adam Thomas, David Nesseth, Eric Nesseth and John D. (Jack) Thomas III. She is also survived by two sisters; Suzanne R. Burke and Mary Lynn (Jim) Ryan both of Kenosha.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Don L. Schulte.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday April 19th, 2011 at 6:00PM at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Kenosha (7307- 40th Avenue). Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday at the church from 3:30PM until the time of mass. Private entombment will take place on Wednesday April 20th 2011 at All Saints Catholic Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Kenosha.
