Caroline J. Lovdahl, age 95, of Racine, joined her husband Marcus in heaven on March 18, 2017 to stand before Jesus and sing his praise for ever more.
Caroline was born on August 26, 1921 in Racine to Jacob and Anna (Vander Leest) Drost. On October 21, 1950, she was united in marriage with Marcus Lovdahl. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother.
Caroline was strong, determined, independent, yet generous and loving. Caroline cared for both of her parents until their deaths. She loved children, loved to laugh and she loved her family deeply. Her family loved to hear her tell all the wonderful stories of her childhood.
Caroline is survived by her sons Jon (Donna) Lovdahl, Bill (Terri) Lovdahl, Ron (Charlotte) Lovdahl, Kevin Lovdahl, and Marc (Karen Peterson) Lovdahl and by her daughter Marchele (Dennis) Horton. She is further survived by her grandchildren Jacob Lovdahl, Christopher (Sara) Wronkowski, Samuel (Bianca) Lovdahl, Benjamin Lovdahl, Sarah Lovdahl, Abbigail Lovdahl, Zachary Lovdahl, Tara Lovdahl, Seth Horton and Emily Horton and her great grandchildren Christopher Wronkowski, Megan Wronkowski, Caelie Lovdahl and Klaudia Lovdahl.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Anna Drost, her husband Marcus Lovdahl, her sister Catherine Slagter, her brother-in-law William Slagter and her daughter-in-law Michelle Lovdahl.
Funeral services will be held on Friday March 24, 2017 at 10:00AM at Racine Bible Church. (12505-Spring Street, Racine WI) Visitation with the family will be on Thursday March 23, 2017 at the church from 5:00PM until 7:00PM and again on Friday from 9:00AM until the time of services. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorials to the Racine Bible Church/Crosswalk program would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Lakeshore Manor, especially Nzale, for their loving, compassionate care they provided to our mother.
