Billie M. Lidik

Billie M. Lidik, age 92, a resident of Kenosha, died Wednesday May 20th, 2020 at the Hospice Alliance Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie WI.

Born on February 25th, 1928 in Chicago IL, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Susan M. (Lacy) Barbour.

She was educated as a young girl in Franklin Park IL and then in Kenosha. She was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.

On August 24th, 1946 she married Albert Lidik in Kenosha at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They would later divorce.

She was a 60-year member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She worked for 50 years at the Kenosha County Health Department and didn’t fully retire until she was 80. In her prime, Billie was an avid walker and covered 4-5 miles every morning, socialized regularly with her friends on Wednesdays at a place they called “Cheers” and enjoyed a glass of wine every now and then. She loved to travel, read, volunteer for Meals on Wheels and was known for knitting the best dish cloths and baby afghans. Billie was a champion of young people, always encouraging them to spread their wings and follow their dreams.

Billie is survived by a daughter Susan (Jeffrey) Kadlac of Reynoldsburg Ohio, two grandchildren, Adam (Tisha) Kadlac of North Carolina, Leah (Paul) Forsyth of Louisiana, and three great grandchildren, Gideon Kadlac, Sadie Kadlac and Davis Forsyth.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William F. Barbour.

A private Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday May 26th, 2020 at 11:00AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial took place at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the staff at Meadowmere Southport for their care and support of Billie this past year. A special thank you to Carol and Bob Tate and Catherine Higgins who never failed to visit and brighten Billie’s days.

Thought for Billie M. Lidik

  • Darlene Specht says:

    Susan and family,
It was a privilege to know, work together and be “L.O.T.O.” Friends with Billie. She was so full of life with an energizing, uplifting spirit that was truly inspirational. She is one of the most positive and practical people I’ve known– and adventurous! It was often quipped “when I grow up I want to be just like Billie!”
Billie will be missed by many, but the memories she gifted us with and how she touched lives will, for me, continue to be a wonderful beacon of joy.
May God comfort you as you mourn,
