Bertha C. Baumgartner, age 88, of Burlington, died Thursday August 10, 2017 at Aurora Zilber Hospice in Wauwatosa.
Bertha was born in Chicago on June 29, 1929 to David A. and Minna A.E. (Breitbarth) Thompson.
In 1949, she was united in marriage with Richard Baumgartner, Sr. She loved to travel around the U.S. and was particularly fond of cruises. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Bertha is survived by her sons Richard Baumgartner and David (Diane) Baumgartner, her brother John Thompson and her sister-in-law Shirley Long. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Theresa, Patricia (Michael), Christina (Matt), Rebecca (Jason), Joseph, Andrew, Derek, Lucas, Peyton and great grandchildren Amanda, Ashley, Randy, Aaron, Indigo, Elliott, Iris, Autumn and Nicole, one great-great grandchild Liliana and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2011, her sister Helen Sakolowski and her daughter-in-law Theresa.
Funeral Services for Bertha will be on Thursday August 17, 2017 at 6:30PM at Faith Chapel (141 Westridge Ave. Burlington). Visitation with the family will be Thursday at Faith Chapel from 5:00PM until the time of services.
Burial will take place on Friday August 18, 2017 at 11:00AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery (108 McHenry St. Burlington).
The family would like to thank Pastor Charles Huyett, Diane Parsons, Cindy Trupp, Kathy Wills, Sherry Mendicino, Kevin Brown, Charles Vos and the many other neighbors and friends who showed such kindness to Bertha.
