Barbara Jean (Nigro) Brever, age 54 a resident of Kenosha, died peacefully surrounded by the love she gave other people on Tuesday June 25th 2013 at the Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie WI.
Born on September 2nd 1958 inColorado SpringsCO, she is the daughter of Nancy Jean (Behrmann-Laubscher) Nigro of Kenosha and the late John Laubscher.
She was educated in the schools ofKenosha, having attended McKinley Jr. and Bradford. She obtained an art degree from UW Parkside and also attendedGatewayTechnicalCollegefor accounting. She eventually received her master’s degree from UW Milwaukee in library science/information. She also attendedCarthageCollege.
She was employed for the last 13 years as a librarian specialist with the Unified Schools at Whittier Elementary and prior to that at McKinley Elementary. She was also at the ESC for a time. She also worked part time at Southwest Library. She also worked as a mentor for kids. She was well respected among her peers and the students adored her.
She was a charter member ofChristLutheranChurchinPaddockLakeWIand was active in the Girl Scouts. As a younger woman she was a cheerleader and a baton twirler. She loved to dance and swim. She enjoyed art and her favorite city wasParis,France. She loved the family vacations to FL.
She is survived by her parents; Alex and Nancy J. Nigro of Kenosha; one son Mitchell William Brever of Kenosha; one sister Tamara (Kenny Samuel) Nigro-Gandt; two brothers; Alex Jr. (Brenda) Nigro and Mark Nigro; nieces Megan (Jacyn) Sawall, Robyn Gandt; nephews Alex (Brianna) Nigro III, Matthew Nigro; Sam Nigro; Dylan Gandt; and great nieces Gwendalyn Sawall and Evelyn Sawall and great nephews Alex Nigro IV and Brendyn Sawall. She is further survived by three uncles; Bill Behrmann, Bob (Donna) Behrmann, Dick (Elaine) Behrmann and two aunts; Kathy Kadolph and daughter Debbie Kerr, and Rose Nigro.
She was preceded in death by her biological father and her grandparents.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday July 2nd 2013 at 6:00PM at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church in Kenosha. (2001-80th Street) Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday at the church from 4:00PM until the time of services.
