Barbara J. Kexel, age 69, of Kenosha passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Froedtert South KMCC Campus. Her passing was very peaceful, and she was surrounded by her loving family. Barb was born on February 4, 1949 in Kenosha to Alfred and Jean (Gehl) Niccolai. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1967. Barb married Daniel Kexel in February of 1971. She was employed with Kenosha Joint Services as a 911 Dispatcher for many years until her retirement in 2009. Barb was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Racine. She loved traveling especially cruises, shopping and reading. Barb loved the dinners and holiday celebrations she was able to share with special friends. Her greatest joy though, was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a beautiful, warm, loving person who will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by, her parents; her husband, Daniel in 2012; a step-mother, Carol Zaricor
and a brother, Fred Niccolai.
Barb is survived by, two sons, Steven (Alice Smorgala) Kexel of Florida and Keith (Christina) Kexel of Racine; Four grandchildren, Cody, Michael, Matthew and Katelynn; her brother, Jack (Mary) Niccolai of Salem; two sisters, Joan (Stuart) Mensinger of WA and Cheryl (Dave) Springer of CO as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services for Barb will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. at Epiphany Lutheran Church, Racine (2921 – Olive Street). A visitation will take place at the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Following the service there will be a burial at 2:00 P.M. at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Emergency Services Network would be greatly appreciated.

I am so sorry for your family’s loss. I remember going to Barb’s wedding reception in ’71. Walking the neighborhood by your folks. Barb lived across the street and we would chat. She was a sweet person.
