Arthur Edward Forssell, age 80, of Kenosha, passed away at his residence surrounded by family on May 23rd, 2024. He was born on March 6th, 1944, to the late Olaf Forssell and Helen (Anderson) Forssell in Waukegan, IL. He attended Waukegan High School and graduated with the class of 1962. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served active duty until 1963. On June 6th, 1964, he married Lucy Uribe at St. James Catholic Church in Kenosha. Together they moved to Kenosha where they raised their family together. Arthur worked as an electrician for IBEW Local Union 150 for many years and retired in 2001. During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling the world with his wife including trips to Sweden, Aruba, and Bangkok to name a few. He cherished his grandkids and loved spending time with them whenever he could.
Arthur is survived by his wife Lucy (Uribe) Forssell, daughters: Diane (Robert) Shannon, Eva (Bill) Bruce, grandchildren: Emily Shannon, Kate (Bryce) Shannon, Tommy (Morgan) Shannon, Molly Shannon, Tiffani Bruce, Brandon (Scout) Bruce, and Cassie (Orian) Bruce, sister: Glory Ann (Donald) Gordon, as well as many other living relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Services for Arthur will be held at St. Marks Catholic Church (7117 14th Ave) on Friday June 7th, 2024, at 11 A.M. A visitation with the family will take place at church from 10 A.M. until the time of the service. Full military honors detail will follow the service.
The family would like to thank Hospice Alliance for all their wonderful care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Hospital and Hospice Alliance are appreciated.
