Allan K. Kehl

Allan K. Kehl, age 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at his residence.

On June 7, 1944, Allan was born to Fred and Mary (Chiapelli) Kehl in Spring Valley, Il. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Kenosha, where Allan spent the rest of his life.

Allan attended St. Mary’s Grade and Middle School and graduated from St. Joeseph Catholic High School, 1963. It was during his years at St. Joe’s that he met the love of his life, Diane (Ladousa) Kehl. They were married on May 4. 1963.

Allan served in County Government for over 33 years. He joined the Kenosha County Sherriff’s Department, as a Deputy Sheriff, shortly after getting married. Allan’s ambitions lead him all the way up to serving as the Sherriff of Kenosha County for eight years. His passion for County Government continued, after becoming Sheriff and lead him running for the position of Kenosha County Executive, which he served for over 7 years. He was humbled and honored to serve the people of Kenosha County during those 33 years of service.

Throughout his life, Allan believed in service and giving back. His love of baseball led him to coaching Little League Baseball for over 12 years. This allowed him to teach the game to countless young youth and afforded him the opportunity to teach his own sons and grandsons the game.

Allan is survived by his wife, Diane of 61 years; his children; Jeffrey (Jennifer), Todd (Amy), Michelle (Ron) Fredricksen and Al. Jr., all of Kenosha, his grandchildren: Jared, Jake, Jordan, Amber, Brandon, Chad, Michael and Ryan Kehl plus several great-grandchildren, all whom he adored and loved.

Allan was proceeded in death by his mother Mary and his sister Chelrei Kehl.

A private family ceremony will be held at the Kemper Center.

    My thoughts are with all of you from Diane to Al jr. Met the whole group 1st year of PeeWee football playin with Todd and Jeff for the Eagles. Al was one of the coaches. After high school played softball with Al and some of his older and slower co-workers by then with Todd and more of our delinquent freinds. I’ll have you in my prayers for grace and strength.
