Alice F. Bergman, age 86, a resident of Racine died Thursday July 8, 2010 at Becker Shoop in Racine.
Alice was born on January 22, 1924 to Alfred and Nellie (Pomeroy) Hodges in Racine WI. On July 2, 1949 Alice married Raymond H. Bergman at Holy Innocence Episcopal Church. She was a life long member of St. Nicholas Episcopal Church (Holy Innocence Episcopal Church). She was a longtime member of the Altar Guild and St. Margaret’s Guild. She was also a longtime volunteer at the Mitchell Elementary School in Racine thru the Wings Program
Alice is survived by one daughter Barbara (Gary) Francis of Racine WI, three sons Brian (Catherine) Bergman of Mequon WI, Jeffrey Bergman of Racine WI, Scott (Carrie) Bergman of Port Washington WI, She is also survived by eight grandchildren Sally (Christopher) Gerlach, Gregory Francis, Breanne Bergman, Christopher Bergman, Andrew Bergman, Kelsey Bergman, Kelly Bergman, and Benjamin Bergman. Alice is further survived by one brother Alfred (Colleen) Hodges of Rochester MN and one sister Alfreda Ellingham of Racine WI.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, two brothers William and Walter and one sister Doris.
Funeral services will be held at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church (2509 16th Street Racine) on Tuesday July 13, 2010 at 10:30 AM. Visitation with the family will be held at the church on Tuesday July 13, 2010 at 10:00 AM until the time of services. Entombment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park (9000 Washington Ave Racine).
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association (620-South 76th Street, Milwaukee WI 53214) would be appreciated.
