Albert Ruffolo, age 87, a lifelong resident of Kenosha died Thursday January 19th 2017 at Parkside Manor.
Albert was born in Kenosha on September 21st, 1929 to Salvatore and Louisa (Covelli) Ruffolo.
He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and served in the U.S. Army overseas during the Korean War. On August 20th 1961, he was united in marriage with Wilma “Lucille” Forby. He worked at American Motors Corporation and then Chrysler until his retirement.
Albert belonged to the Italian American Society for many years and was liked and appreciated by all who knew him. His favorite “hobby” was spending time with his beloved grandchildren, who he may or may not have taught to cheat at cards. He was loved very much by his wife Lucille who counted herself lucky to have had him by her side for over 55 years.
Surviving Albert are his wife Lucille and his two daughters, Patricia (Ronald) Gericke of Henderson NV and Beverly (Gerald) Holmes of Carbondale IL. Additionally, he is survived by his nine beloved grandchildren, Denice (Jeffrey) Holmes, Michelle (Mike) Gericke, Melissa (Shannon) Rice, Tricia (Ed) Gericke, Jennifer (Matt) Gericke, John (Laura) Holmes, Ronald (Bethani) Gericke, Jared (Keisha) Holmes and Diana (David) Miner as well as by his 26 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by the three Watson kids who considered Albert a grandfather.
Preceding Albert in death were his parents, his sister Mary, his brothers Carl, Joe, Bennie and Frankie, one great grandchild and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services for Albert will be held on Saturday, January 28th 2017 in Carbondale IL where burial will take place. (Contact Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale for more information.)
A memorial service will be held locally at a later date.
