Albert Garibay

Albert Garibay, age 92, a longtime resident of Racine, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 6th, 2024.

Albert was born in Racine, educated in Racine Schools, and eventually began work in manufacturing. He worked for Insinkerator as a Punch Press Operator for many years before retiring. When he was young, he was introduced to his future wife, Barb Pease, by a friend. Barb and Albert were married for 50 years before her death. The two were blessed with two children, Jamie and Bill. Albert worked hard all his life and always took care of his family.

In his spare time, Albert loved woodworking; particularly building wooden chairs. He was also an accomplished photographer, and had all the lenses and software anyone would ever need. He was known for taking wonderful portraits of his grandchildren.

Albert is survived by his son, Jamie Garibay, his granddaughters Kristin Garibay and Amanda (Salino) Cartagena, and his 4 great-grandchildren, Sophia, Ariana, Jaxson, and Eliott Cartagena. He is also survived by his siblings Mike, Lean, Mary, Marcy, and Suzy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 50 years, Barb, and his son Bill.

Albert’s family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses from Moments Hospice, who cared for him during his final days with compassion and dignity.

My Uncle Al made a toy box for my son. We still have it. He was a very nice man. Took good care of my precious Aunt Barbara. I know my little cousin Jamie will be lost without him.❤️
