Adolf Spiwek, 92, of Kenosha, died peacefully on Monday, August 8, 2016, at his home.
Born in Danielow, Poland on May 6, 1924, Adolf was the third youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin and Berta (Preiss) Spiwek. He spent his early life and received his education in Poland. He served as a Worker and a Teacher until he was drafted into the German Army in 1942 to 1945, fighting on the Russian warfront. He was taken Prisoner of World War II from 1945 to 1948.
In 1966, Adolf moved to Kenosha to make his home. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and wine-making. He retired from American Brass in 1992 after 23 years.
In 1978, he married his second wife, Elise Weissfloch of Germany. She preceded him in death in 2006.
He is survived by his two daughters Angelika (Joachim) Neundorf of Grossefehn, Germany and Ingrid (Heinz-Georg) Goebel of Wiesbaden, Germany; three grandsons of Germany (Sebastian, Julian and Adrian); nieces and nephews, Nancy Spiwek of Kenosha, Harry Spiwek of Kenosha, Sylvia Wolf, John (Sharon) Spivek of Waukesha, Marita Jones of Kenosha, and other nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews both in the United States and in Germany.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers, August, Reinhold, Jan, Berthold, Ferdinand, Friedrich, Ludwig and Otto Spiwek.
A graveside funeral service for Adolf will be held at 11a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Green Ridge Cemetery in Kenosha (6604-7th Avenue).
