Randy Lybrook, age 68, of Pleasant Prairie passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Friday, August 20, 2021. Randy was born in Dayton, OH on July 31, 1953. He attended schools in Ohio. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy in 1971. He loved motorcycles and in April 1975 he met his best friend, partner and soulmate at Midwest Chopper Supply in Waukegan. They were married at Great Lakes Naval Base on August 30, 1975. Randy worked at Johnson Outboard Motors and he drove truck for over 30 years.
Randy was a past president of the Northern Illinois Chapter of A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois. In May of 1987, he and Gayle were charter members of Uke’s Harley Davidson, Kenosha, WI H.O.G. chapter. They are also lifetime members of National H.O.G. Randy was a past assistant director, road captain and activities chairman. Over the years he was always meeting and making so many friends, there was never a dull moment. Sometime in the 80’s Randy bought a rubber Hog mask at a costume shop and became “HogHead”. He appeared at many rallies, including the Harley Davidson’s 95th, 100th, 105th, and 110th anniversaries. Hundreds had their pictures taken with him over the years! He was truly one of a kind and loved it!
Randy is preceded in death by, his parents, Dewey and Wilma Lybrook; infant daughter, Elizabeth Kay; parents-in-law, Ray and Marian Pirlot, son-in-law, Dennis Murphy, and brothers-in-law John Pirlot and Dale Gibson.
Randy is survived by, his loving wife of 45 years, Gayle Lybrook; his son, Chris (Kristen) Lybrook and their children, Grayson Michael (9), Kendall Marie (8) and Avery McKenna (4); his daughter Amy Murphy and her children, Christopher Isiah (24), Jordan Renee’ (19) and Ryan Edward (11); a brother, Bill (Betty) Anderson as well as other family and so many friends.
A memorial service for Randy will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 25th, 2021 at Fireside Restaurant (2801 – 30th Avenue) with military honors to follow. Following the service, a visitation with the family will be held at the Fireside.
Our hearts broke to lose you, but you fought a long hard fight. No more surgeries or pain and suffering. “Ride free My Love”. “We love you so much and you our are G.B.N.F (Gone But Not Forgotten).”
