Michael Hollow says:
I’m so saddened to hear about Tim. I was Tim’s supervisor st Warehouse Specialists, and then UTi when they (UTi) took over.
Tim started at Wareouse Specialists as a part time temp, but quickky advanced to being my Lead man. I can say, without a doubt, Tim was one of, if not my most, loyal employees. When Tim and I were at our 1st warehouse, with UTi, I often times left him with the keys to the warehouse, as I was in the hospital due to my son’s frequent hospitalizations, at that time.
I always got honest feedback from Tim. I never once worried how the warehouse employees were doing in my absences as Tim was that good.
But more than all of that Tim was just a great guy. He came off as grouchy and perhaps a bit challenging, but when you got to know him you found out that you had a friend for life. Tim Binder would give anyone, and I mean ANYONE, the shirt off of his back, no matter how you felt about him, or he about you. He was just that kind of a guy. Perhaps one of the most miss-understood individuals I knew, but had a heart of gold.
I only live down the street from Tim, but I just found about his passing today (12/11), as I myself am still recovering from my recent surgery, so I haven’t been out and about. However, I had a chance encounter with Tim on Wednesday, November 20. He was walking down the street when I was getting my mail. We talked a while, I’m glad we had that time to talk.
And just so you know Kendall Best, if you’re reading this, Tim spoke highly of you when I asked him if he still had any contact with UTi employees.
RIP Tim Binder. And to the Binder family. I’m sorry about your loss. Tim really was one of the ” Good Guys”
