Lucille B. McCarthy, age 87 a resident of Somers died Sunday March 25, 2018 at Home Inspired Senior Living in Somers. Lucille was born on March 2, 1931 in Fort Dodge, IA to Angelo and Pearl (Umbaugh) Benegas and she was educated in the schools of Iowa. She married Henry F. McCarthy on December 29, 1956 in Iowa and the couple moved to Kenosha in 1960. Lucille was a former member of St. Marks Catholic Church and most recently was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church. She enjoyed bingo and other games, was an avid reader and enjoyed watching old movies, especially musicals. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family especially spending time with her grandkids, whom she was affectionately known as Grandma “Seal”.
She was preceded in death by, her parents; her husband, Henry in 1999; a son, Allen in 2014; son-in-law, Mike in 2018; and her siblings.
Lucille in survived by, two sons, Jon (Diana) McCarthy of New York and Kevin (Parris) McCarthy of Texas; four daughters, Diane McCarthy of New York, Maureen Bageant of South Carolina, Ruth (Don) Bolyard of Kenosha and Sue (Tom) Steffens of Madison; eight grandchildren, Nicole Steffens, Craig Bolyard, Lauren McCarthy, Kristen Steffens, Mitchell McCarthy, Sara Bolyard, Corinne Steffens and Brittan McCarthy;
her brother, Ray (Joyce) Benegas of Iowa as well as other family and friends.
Funeral services for Lucille will be held on Saturday April 28, 2018 at 11:00AM at All Saints Cemetery (3300 Springbrook Road).
