Barbara Jane Mikuta (1952-2017)

Barbara Jane Mikuta, age 65, a resident of Racine, died Saturday December 23, 2017 at The Villa at Lincoln Park in Racine.

Barbara was born December 6, 1952 in Saratoga Springs NY. She grew up in Saratoga Springs with one sister and three brothers. She married Thomas Mikuta in 1974. He was in the Navy and she moved wherever he was stationed (Virginia, Puerto Rico). She gave birth to one daughter Jennifer in 1975 and one son Neil in 1980.

She enjoyed crocheting, getting together with friends, reading books and listening to music. She loved artists like Crystal Gayle, The Carpenters, Reba McEntyre and Patsy Cline. She worked in the banking industry for over 20 years and retired from US Bank in 2013. Barbara was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband Thomas C. Mikuta of Racine, son Neil (Jennifer A.) Mikuta of Sturtevant and daughter Jennifer M. Mikuta of Sturtevant. She is also survived by five grandchildren Tyler Mikuta, Sarah Mikuta, Maddison Mikuta, Caden Mikuta and Kelly Mikuta all of Sturtevant.

Barbara was preceded in death by her mother Arvessa Atwell and step father Daniel A. Atwell.
