Rose Welke, age 84, passed away on March 21, 2010, at the Lutheran Home, Fond du Lac, WI.
She was born on August 7, 1925, to Philipp and Anna Gaschler, in Furstenthal-Radautz, Bukovina, a province of Romania. She met her husband, Reinhold Welke, in Immenstadt, Poland. They were married in 1946 in the German Alps and resided in Heidenheim, Germany. They and their two sons then moved to Kenosha, WI in December of 1955.
Rose and Reinhold became lifelong members of Freidens Evangelical Lutheran Kirche, where she served on the altar guild for many years. Rose had a passion for gardening and house plants, needlepoint, crocheting, sewing and baking and especially, children. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy and the center of her life.
Rose is survived by her sisters Ida (Rolf) Richter and Waltroud (Dieter) Kombrink of Germany, and her children, Harry (Judy) Welke, Los Angelas, CA , Rita (Jay) Weber, Kenosha, WI and Karin (Michael) Pacetti, Fond du Lac, WI. She is further survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reinhold Welke, her son Rudy Welke, her sister, Barbara Gaschler, and brothers Anton and Egon Gaschler.
Her Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010 beginning with a showing from 10-11a.m. followed by the funeral service and interment at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
