Jean (Kane) St. Peter went from life on earth to eternal life in heaven, on Monday, March 22nd, surrounded by her five children as they held hands and prayed together. Jean was born on March 2, 1924 in Milwaukee, WI. She was the daughter of Edward and Nora (Flasch) Kane. Jean graduated from Mercy High School in 1942. On August 24, 1946 she married the love of her life, Byron Louis St. Peter at St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Byron passed away on May 24, 1991.
Jean was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church and enjoyed volunteering at the parish. She was employed at Kenosha Unified Schools for over twenty years. She also volunteered at Kenosha Memorial Hospital.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She is survived by five children, Anne (Ed) Zydowsky, Ed (Paula) St. Peter, John (Jane) St. Peter, Joan (Scott) Johnson and Jim (Lori) St. Peter and her brother Joseph (Joanne) Kane, fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is further survived by many special friends at Beeche Point apartments.
She was preceded in death by her husband Byron, her two brothers, John and Francis Kane, and her two sisters, Marie Engleton and Lucille Haas.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark’s Catholic Church on Thursday March 25th 2010 at 11:30AM. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 AM until time of mass. Entombment at All Saints Mausoleum will be private.
