Frank “Greg” Picazo

Frank “Greg” Picazo, age 95, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, at his home while surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 24, 1930, in Kenosha, WI, to the late Richard and Isabel (Garcia) Picazo. He attended local schools and later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War from August 1950 to May 1951.

On June 16, 1956, he married the love of his life, Joan Walker. The two spent over 70 years married and had the honor of raising four children together. Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and the patriarch of a wonderful family.

Frank was someone who seemed to make friends wherever he went. He was friendly, approachable, and down to earth, with a natural ability to form bonds with both friends and strangers that often became lifelong friendships. He had a special way of making people feel welcome and valued. Throughout his 95 years, he touched countless lives, not only through the things he accomplished, but through the kindness, humility, and genuine warmth he showed to those around him. His strength of character and the way he treated others made him a role model to generations of family and friends.

Frank was a glazier by trade for 40+ years and retired in 1996. His work with glass became more than just a profession, as his interest in the craft led him to create many intricate stained-glass panels over the years, which he proudly displayed or gifted to others. Through his work, Frank also helped shape the community he loved and called home.

Frank was an avid golfer and, for those who knew him, a huge Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs fan. He also had a lifelong love for drum corps and played the snare for The Kingsmen Drum Corps of Kenosha.

Above all else, Frank loved his family. Whether through his encouragement, his steady presence, or simply by always showing up when his family needed him, Frank demonstrated his love through a lifetime of unwavering support. He was the kind of person his family could always count on, and his presence, guidance, and example will continue to live on through the generations he helped shape.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Joan Picazo; children, Gregory (Karen) Picazo, Renee Picazo, Gail Picazo Rohde, Nick Picazo, Doug Sorensen and Scott Sorensen; grandchildren, Jack Loring, Daniel Alpert, Spencer (Karen) Tostrud, and Ken Picazo; great-grandchildren, Leah Tostrud and Sadie Loring; siblings, Rosalie Johnston, Sara Abrego, Ralph Abrego, and Sam Abrego; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Inez, Constance, Richard, Margaret, Robert, and Dorothy.

A visitation with friends and family will be held at Kemper Center Founders Hall (6501 3rd Ave, Kenosha, WI 53143) on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026, at 2 P.M. A memorial service with full military honors for Frank will also be held at Kemper Center Founders Hall at 3 P.M. Frank will later be laid to rest at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove privately at a later date.
