Caitlin A. Olsen

Caitlin Alexandra Olsen passed away peacefully at home early on the morning of August 26, 2026, following several weeks of illness. Caitlin, 36, was born on February 10,1990, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to parents Darren and Donna Olsen. She joined siblings, Allison McGowan (Andy) and Brandon Olsen (Sarah).

Caitlin was born with a disability called Congenital Disorders of Glycosylation (type PMM2), which limited her communication and mobility, yet throughout her life, she was a source of joy to those around her. She considered everyone her friend, from people at church, to her many schools, to day programs and other activities. Caitlin loved listening to music, her sound books, going to dances and movies, but her favorite activity was always horse riding at a therapeutic riding center here in Wisconsin, and previously in Michigan. She especially enjoyed spending time with her siblings and her 2 nieces (Etta and Emily) and 3 nephews (Elias, Graham, and Julian) for who Caitlin was always just aunt “KiKi”. We’re very thankful for the caregivers, teachers, aids, doctors, event volunteers and riding side walkers for their loving care and attention to Caitlin.

Caitlin was preceded in death by her very loving grandparents, Norman and Nancy Olsen, and Frank DiPietro. She is survived by her aunts and uncles, 16 cousins and her grandmother, Mary Ann DiPietro.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Kenosha City Church, 6009 Pershing Blvd., Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Sunday, August 30, at 3:00 p.m. Immediately following the service, the church will be hosting an ice cream social in Caitlin’s honor.
