It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Kristofer (Tofer) Alan King, age 46, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, who died suddenly on June 2, 2025. He was born in Libertyville, Illinois on October 21, 1978 to Robert and Patricia King. On July 8, 2017, he married the love of his life, Lee Bartusch in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where they have made a home since that time.
Kristofer was a brilliant and talented graphic designer who currently worked for AFCO BankDirect. He was also a gifted musician playing the piano in the evenings for relaxation or for the enjoyment of family and friends. Beginning in 2017, he was the Marketing Director for Kenosha Pride. For a few years, he did all the marketing and brand presentation work for that organization and has continued to be an active supporter in the community. In his leisure time, Kristofer loved computer games, camping, vacationing in Florida, riding roller coasters and spending time with friends. He also loved gardening and cooking, using some of his artistic talents making amazing desserts.
He is preceded in death by his beloved dog, Chloe. He is survived by his husband, Lee Bartusch, parents: Patricia King and Dr. Robert (Joyce) King, sisters: Lora Appling and Wendi (R. Mark) Hagar, nieces: Ashli, Wynter, Arlynn, Ansynn, nephew: Aaron, mother-in-law: Cheryl Bourgeois, brother-in-law: John Koon, sister in-law: Stephanie Bates and many other relatives.
Most of all, he will be remembered as being loving and kind – his mother’s “gentle giant”.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 27, 2025 at Parkway Chateau from 2 to 8 P.M.
