Sandra Lee Kirschbaum, age 89, a lifelong resident of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025.
Born in Kenosha on April 4, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Charlotte (Nordbye) Steinhoff. She was a graduate of Kenosha High School with the class of 1953. On October 3rd, 1959, she married Donald Kirschbaum. Prior to being a full-time homemaker, Sandy worked for the bus company and the Leader Store. Once her children were all in school, she worked part time as a waitress on Friday nights at the VFW and then worked in bindery at Smith Printing.
Sandy found joy tending to her large garden during the summers and preparing delicious meals and sweets for her family. She loved traveling with Don, spending winters in Hawaii, playing cribbage, bowling, and golfing. Tuesday nights in the summer were reserved for car club and on weekends her and Don could often be found at car shows with one or both of their collector cars. Above all, she cherished time with her family and her many pets.
Sandy is survived by her 4 children: Don (Jan) Kirschbaum, Daniel Kirschbaum, Kris (Mike) Hill, and Karen (Shawn) Dixon, grandchildren Dana Kirschbaum, Jordyn Kirschbaum, and Kyle Hill. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 64 years Don, sisters Joan Lang, Barbara Kertz and brother James Steinhoff.
The family would like to thank Dr. Alby Antoo and his staff, especially Alyssa Belotti, RN,
