Shirley Gosselin

Shirley Gosselin, a lifelong resident of Kenosha, passed away at home on November 7th 2024. She was 96 years old.

Shirley was born in Kenosha to loving parents Robert and Ella Hughes. She went to grade school at St. Mark’s and graduated from Kenosha High School. Later she met and married Henry Joseph Gosselin at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. They were blessed with 5 children, and Shirley devoted her life to caring for them and making their house a home.

Shirley was always willing to try new things. She and her husband vacationed to Hawaii for their 25th wedding anniversary, a trip she always said was her favorite. After her husband’s death, she and her family even took a cruise to Alaska.

In her down time, she loved knitting pillows, sweaters, and especially ponchos. She also loved attending water aerobics class at Diver Dan’s with her beloved swim group “The Water Wonders.”

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Henry, and her siblings Lawrence, Robert, James, Lois, and Carol.

She is survived by her children Sharon (Paul – deceased) Savard, Michael (Ruth) Gosselin, Barb Gosselin, Al (Karen) Gosselin, and Karen (Ed) Ramos. She is further survived by grandchildren Alisha (Chris) Hamberger, Peter Gosselin, Kurt Gosselin (Ashley McQueen) Julie Gosselin, Eric (Michelle) Hughes, and Jenny Hughes, and great-granddaughter Kendra Hamberger.

A mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday, November 18th at 11am at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (7117 14th Ave, Kenosha). Visitation with the family will be from 10am until the time of service.

  • My deepest sympathy goes out to the family. I always enjoyed seeing them as they were great friends of my in-laws, Jerry and Norma Brush. They were wonderful folks!
