Dave was born in Viroqua, WI, on June 9, 1937. He was the 3rd of nine children born to Adolph & Gertie (Berge) Anderson.
Dave attended Onalaska High School, graduating in 1955. In his younger years he enjoyed spending the summers on his Uncle Henry’s farm, milking cows and helping with the general farm work. When older, Dave worked in Onalaska as a mechanic, with his father, at Anderson’s Garage. In November of 1958 he relocated to Kenosha and began employment on November 25, 1958 at AMC. He was employed there for the next 30 plus years, seeing the company transition from AMC to Renault and ultimately Chrysler. Dave held the position of Supervisor in the Final Repair Division, sometimes traveling to plants in Canada, Detroit, and St. Louis.
Dave was married on December 6, 1964, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to Judy Williams. Dave and Judy met in Milwaukee, at “Buddy Beeks”, listening to music at their favorite piano bar. Dave was also quite the poet, writing special poems every year for Judy’s birthday and Valentines Day. They would have celebrated 60 happily married years together this December.
Dave retired on January 1, 1990 after more than 30 years with the company. After retirement Dave enjoyed having the time to spend many fun and happy days, playing and being with his grandson, Anthony. He also enjoyed spending more time at his property in Crawford County, WI. He and Judy did a lot of camping, visiting many different states, and lots of Wisconsin State Parks.
Dave enjoyed many hobbies, including photography, developing and printing his own photos, buying and selling cars, going to garage sales, boating, fishing, and deer hunting on his property, water and snow skiing, and listening to Country music, watching the Packer games, and the many Kenosha summer festivals, especially attending the PB&J concerts at Veterans Memorial Park along with having Kaisers Pizza! Many fun summers were spent renting a cottage with family in Waushara County. He loved tending to his tomatoes every summer.
Most of all Dave enjoyed spending time with his family. Camping, boating, water skiing, snow skiing and just hanging out, having everyone together. Holidays together were always very special to him.
