Nancy Jean Schulz (Krahn)

Nancy Jean Schulz (Krahn), 80, of Kenosha County, passed away at Aurora Hospital in Racine on Friday, September 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 2, 1944, at Kenosha Hospital, Nancy grew up in Brighton, Wisconsin with her four siblings. Later in life, Nancy met the love of her life, Kenneth David Schulz, at a Central High School football game. They married on May 11, 1963, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and enjoyed over 53 years of marriage, raising two sons and cherishing six grandchildren.

In 1984, Nancy and Kenneth purchased Jeddy’s Bar, where they created lasting memories with family and friends over 25 years of ownership.

A dedicated community member, Nancy was actively involved in the Tavern League of Wisconsin for over 20 years, including serving as secretary. She was a committed participant in local school boards and 4-H activities for many years. Additionally, Nancy was a valued volunteer with the local Kiwanis Club.

Beyond her community service, Nancy loved gambling trips with friends, Vegas vacations with her grandchildren, and cooking with love for anyone and everyone. She enjoyed playing solitaire and euchre, and was known for her fondness of lemon drop martinis and Bacardi cokes, and especially for her ability to make everyone feel loved and part of the family. Her warmth, humor, spirit, and ability to light up a room will be deeply missed.

Nancy is survived by her sister Betty Kirchner (Krahn), sons David Schulz and Steven (Laura) Schulz, and her six grandchildren: Kristen, Ryon, Kalli, Brenden, Taylor, and Tyler Schulz; along with her grand dogs, Niko, Rocco, CiCi and Dallas. She is also remembered by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a wide circle of friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Schulz, parents, Emil and Margaret Krahn, and her siblings Robert Krahn, Donna Burnett (Krahn), and Linda Cowan (Krahn).

A service to honor Nancy will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Parkway Chateau (12304 75th St, Kenosha). Visitation for family and friends will take place from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service (please use Entrance C).
