Brenda Lee “Bren” Smith

Brenda Lee “Bren” Smith, 58, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, passed away on May 18, 2024 surrounded by family, at Froedtert hospital in Pleasant Prairie Wisconsin.

 The daughter of Loren and Carole Smith, Brenda was born in Waukegan IL  on October 26, 1965. She was a lifelong resident of Kenosha. She married David A Kuhnley June 1st 1985 and divorced in September of 2006. She was a loving mother and grandmother, known for her generosity, loyalty, and willingness to help others. Brenda had a successful career as a bartender since the age of 18 and was also a self-employed caterer.

In her free time, Brenda enjoyed going to concerts, spending time with her grandson, visiting out of town family, cooking, and attending festivals and the harbor market with her friends. She was a vibrant soul who cherished these moments with her loved ones.

Brenda is survived by her son Dustin (Ashley) Kuhnley, grandson Jace, father, Loren (Sandra) Smith Sr., mother Carole Walsh, brothers Loren Jr (Gretchen), Jeffery (Michelle Quinnert), and partner Peter Richards as well as her extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Lloyd and Eithel Smith, her maternal grandparents Louis and Agnus LaBarge, her stepfather Al Walsh, brother Raymond Smith, and sister-in-law Belinda Smith.

A celebration of life to honor Brenda’s life will be held at Mariah’s Neighborhood Bar 2724 Roosevelt Rd, Kenosha WI on May 31st at 1pm. The family appreciates all the love and support during this difficult time.

A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Dr Knight’s office, the staff at Froedtert and Hospice Alliance who were there to help ease her passing as well as a thank you to her partner Peter who took care of her over the past few months.
